Emrys DeVille tattoo "Cast out fear"

It is always an honor when people contact me about using my calligraphy for their tattoos and it gives me joy when they share pictures with me!

Meet Emrys DeVille! Who was kind enough to allow me to use her photos on my blog and even sent me a few words about herself and why she chose "Cast out fear" as her tattoo.

Live long and prosper, my friend!

Emrys DeVille: Getting sober required casting out a ton of fear. This tattoo is visual reminder of the work I did to conquer my fear of being sober. It is a reminder to always put my best foot forward even when I'm scared, make the tough choices based on logic rather than emotion, and to keep on trucking with kindness, compassion, and an active desire to keep learning and growing as a person/alien.

I haven't seen every series and still can't pronounce "data" correctly (my husband says i say it the British way) but my ojisan was a huge Trekkie and definitely identified with Vulcans as well. He would be so stoked to see this tattoo.

As an autistic person I think Vulcans help me process my existence and accept that it is ok to be how I am and there is value in my frankness and fact based honesty. ST teaches us to accept everyone for who they are rather than who they are not and I find that very comforting.

Queen - Vulcan Calligraphy

The Patam (head) you see below in red and on this translation is one I created myself as a signature for my work. It is in no way official/canon. I would, of course, be deeply honored if you used my work with my Patam (as long as you don’t claim it as your own) but I thought an explanation was in order. Consider this fair warning.

In case you would rather use the generic Patam, as found in korsaya.org, use the one in black.

Thank you!/Itaren
