Happy New Year 2020 in Vulcan Calligraphy

My last post for 2019.
Something to share with your Vulcan friends!
See you next year.

It may be the warriors who get the glory, but it's the engineers who build societies - Vulcan Calligraphy

The Patam (head) you see below in red and on this translation is one I created myself as a signature for my work. It is in no way official/canon. I would, of course, be deeply honored if you used my work with my Patam (as long as you don’t claim it as your own) but I thought an explanation was in order. Consider this fair warning.

In case you would rather use the generic Patam, as found in korsaya.org, use the one in black.

Thank you!/Itaren

Star Trek European Fan Base

Tonk’peh,

My friend, Sarel, started a FaceBook group for European Star Trek fans. So, read the group's description below to find out more and click the image if you'd like to join them!

Sochya eh dif.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/StarTrekEU/

This group is for European Star Trek fans.

The goal is to share information on events that might be taking place in Europe, Stores with Star Trek merchandise (either located or shipping to EU) and maybe, hopefully, organize events in the future, oh and share memes!

Some of us might live in countries with very small ST fan bases others the opposite. I have on-line friends who said they never met a single Star Trek fan in their area; this is why I decided to join FB and create this group.

Friendship and respect are what this group will be about.

Thank you
Sarel ~

Surak's Dream - Vulcan Song by T'Prion

Tonk’peh.

I've been working on a big project lately for the amazing, talented, Vulcan singer: T'Prion.
So, I'm proud to present:
Surak's Dream (Run t'Surak)

Music/Vocals/Video by T'Prion (Patris Angel)

Lyrics by Sidzhan t’Gai

 Artworks/Calligraphy Kes-wunsu aka 9 of 9 (aka me)

And here's a few words from T'Prion (Patris Angel) herself!

Everything started 5 years ago when I volunteered to help with korsaya.org Forums.
I was asked to write a song in Vulcan and so I did! People started to get interested and I discovered the Kir’Shara WordPress website where Surak’s Analects are posted in both Vulcan and English.
In agreement with the author, I began writing a song inspired by each part of the Analects. More over, I created a different musical style for each song. In my view, Vulcan Music doesn’t express emotion but is meant to have a logical function, a purpose.
With time, I created my own website dedicated to this project. Surak’s Dream is linked with the Thread of Service in the Third Analect. Lyrics, texts and info are available here: https://visakavuhlkansuvulcanlegacy.wordpress.com/rrt/

Brainy is the new sexy - Vulcan Calligraphy

Note: The Vulcan language, as created by Mark R. Gardner, doesn't include the words "Brainy" or "Sexy" so I had to get a bit creative there...but not much.

-ik is a very common adjective ending, so the logical conclusion was that the current method would remain applicable here. I also poked people over at the Vuhlkansu group to get their opinion.
Special thanks to Kay Reynolds for all her help! Check out her Vulcan language lessons here:

About the Patam I use.

Na'shaya,

Because I’ve seen some of my Vulcan calligraphy translations shared in other places, I’d like to clarify something.

The Patam (head) you see here in red is one I created myself as a signature for my work. It is in no way official/canon. I would of course be deeply honored if you used my work with my Patam (as long as you don’t claim it as your own) but I thought an explanation was in order. Consider this fair warning.

I’ve added the official (as far as I know) Patam, as found in korsaya.org. in black in case you would rather use the generic one.

Thank you!/Itaren
